Emily Schlemmer is the instructor of the third course in the Google UX Design Certificate, Start the UX Design Process: Empathize, Define, and Ideate. At the time of recording the certificate, Emily was a senior researcher at Google Assistant, but she is now with the Gemini (Bard) team.

According to her, Emily is a “kid- and family-focused, primarily qualitative researcher with an excitement for building innovative, healthy, positive, prosocial digital experiences for kids and families.” (1)

Before joining Google, Emily worked at Meta (Facebook) as a UX researcher on the Messenger team. She also worked at the popular kids’ TV network Nickelodeon.

Emily holds a B.A. in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Skidmore College, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Technology, Innovation, and Education from Harvard University, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Children’s Media Analysis & Evaluation from Teachers College, Columbia University.
